  1. EOS R
    YES = Perfect for Professionals/Prosumers!😉
    Pro Sports/Action/Low-Light/Wildlife/BIF=Birds in Flight/Weddings, etc 😆🕊

Highest FF (Full Frame) DR (Dynamic Range) Live-View Autofocus (Photography + Cinematography)

    Unique Canon ExpSIM Live-View Autofocus
= Simulates F1-F99 Live (Aperture Exposure + Aperture Contrast) using optimal aperture DoF for AF

    Unique Canon High-Speed Live-Review-DISPLAY (Shows Live-Actual-Captures)
= Live-View BLACKOUT-FREE Mechanical Shutter High-Continuous RAW stills photography shooting!
= Canon users always see LIVE "actual images captured" 250-250ms AHEAD of others, never BEHIND
= AHEAD of OVF (optical pre-capture ONLY) by 250ms ! ahead of OVF dSLRs
= waaaay AHEAD of EVF (electronic pre-capture laggy "live preview-only") by 290ms ! ahead of Sony, Nikon, Panasonic, etc, etc, etc (they NEVER know if any of their UNSEEN captures are as expected, TILL much later, in "regular review" long after capture)

BLACKOUT-FREE MECHANICAL SHUTTER HIGH-CONTINUOUS STILLS SHOOTING:
    Enjoyed by:
    EOS 1DXMkII @ 16fps 20mp 14-bit uncompressed RAW CR2 ExpSIM Live-View AF "1st time perfect"
    EOS R @ 8fps 30mp 14-bit uncompressed RAW CR3 ExpSIM Live-View AF "1st time perfect"
    EOS RP @ 5fps 26mp 14-bit uncompressed RAW CR3 with ExpSIM Live-View AF "1st time perfect"
    Canon's blistering fast accurate AF-C = "1st time perfect" !!!

    Canon's BEST 4k uhd higher faster-brighter (fastest-brightest) 1:1 straight-read speedcrop factor !
    EOS R = 1.750x speed factor 4k uhd 1:1 straight-read @ Maximum 480Mbps !!!
= 1.750x brighter F-brightness @ any identical deeper DoF (every identical FF FoV)

    Canon EOS R = 1.75x faster-brighter F# (Identical aperture diameter = Identical DoF) + (Identical FoV)
For both: Wide-Angle and Tele-Angle (All FF FoV AoV)!!!
    than:
ALL other FF MILCs STUCK with LOWER SLOWER-DIMMER UNCROP 1.0x "down-rezzing oversampling" whole-sensor-width 4k uhd !!!

    ■■■ Others:

CANNOT (they all LACK Canon's Aperture ExpSIM Live-View)
    +
    CANNOT = they all suffer ■□■□■□■ Live-View Mechanical-Shutter-BLACKOUTS:
    ■□■□■ LV Sony-Shutter-BLACKOUTS): EVF Sony A9, A7RIV, or older
■□■□■ LV Nikon-Shutter-BLACKOUTS): EVF Nikon Z7/Z6, LCD (dSLRs)
    ■□■□■ LV Panasonic-Shutter-BLACKOUTS): EVF Panasonic S1R/S1/S1H
    +
CANNOT = they all LACK Canon's blistering fast accurate AF-C = "1st time perfect" !!!

[X] 😖 non-canon MILCs need to Live-View AF at widest-apertures-only, where extra light helps, BUT shallowest DoF causes mis-focus AF errors on "mirrorless" ILCs: FF Sony Alphas, FF Nikon Z's, FF Panasonic, etc (even when widest-open "focus priority" Sony AF misfocuses with live exposure preview effect OFF (DISABLED!) + if ON (ENABLED) where AF gets worse, often fails F4-F22 … peers tell their users they must then revert back to OFF (DISABLED) again! (they learn to pre-assign a button to toggle between OFF/ON when wanting either "iffy AF = no exposure preview" or "exposure preview = no AF" (their only relief, is they're okay in very bright light scenarios)

    [X] 😖 non-canon MILCs all LACK Canon High-Speed Live-Review-DISPLAY !
[X] 😖 non-canon MILCs use old videocam derived electronic rolling shutter laggy PAST-Preview only! whether paired with or without mechanical shutter, the fastest live-view display possible, is "past-vision" (not yet captured! showing a DELAYED videofeed intended for STILLS capture)
[X] 😖 non-canon MILCs users with laggy Past-Preview-Only NEVER know if any of their UNSEEN actual captures are as expected, TILL much later, in "regular review" long after capture !!!

    [X] 😖 non-canon MILCs resort to AF-C "auto-refocus" retry-retry-retry-again
    = (AF-C "needy") = almost-autofocus ! = SONY Alphas A9/A7RIV/A7III, etc !
    = (AF-C "needy") = almost-autofocus ! = NIKON Z7/Z6 !
    = (AF-C "needy") = almost-autofocus ! = Panasonic S1R/S1/S1H !

    [X] 😖 non-canon MILCs resorting to LOWER SLOWER-DIMMER UNCROP 1.0x "down-rezzing oversampling" whole-sensor-width 4k uhd:
= attempting "identical visual effect" = (Identical aperture diameter = Identical DoF) + (Identical FoV)
= all NEED SLOWER-DIMMER F# by 1.750x (Identical aperture diameter)

    e.g. 4k uhd:

FF FoV (say: 24mm for Identical FoV) @ Aperture Diameter (say: 4.0 mm for Identical DoF)

    EOS R = 13.7mm @ F3.43 (480Mbps) faster-brighter ! (+ more color data, too!)
    vs
    SONY A# = 24mm @ F6.0 😖 (100Mbps) 😖
    Nikon Z# = 24mm @ F6.0 😖 (144Mbps) 😖
    Panasonic S# = 24mm @ F6.0 😖 (150Mbps) 😖
    =
    F6.0 / F3.43 = 1.75x slower-dimmer 😖 … light starved 😖 … noisier, too 😖 (+ less color data!) 😖

    TRY ANOTHER: 4k uhd …

FF FoV (say: 20mm for Identical FoV) @ Aperture Diameter (say: 2.0 mm for Identical DoF)

    EOS R = 11.43mm @ F5.71 (480Mbps) faster-brighter ! (+ more color data, too!)
    vs
    SONY A# = 20mm @ F10.0 😖 (100Mbps) 😖
    Nikon Z# = 20mm @ F10.0 😖 (144Mbps) 😖
    Panasonic S# = 20mm @ F10.0 😖 (150Mbps) 😖
    =
    F10.0 / F5.71 = 1.75x slower-dimmer 😖 … light starved 😖 … noisier, too 😖 (+ less color data!) 😖

EOS R shooters KNOW how to use the RIGHT lenses for WIDE-ANGLE 4k uhd !!!
    vs
[X] 😖 non-canon MILC users WHINE/MOAN complain IGNORANTLY about high 1.75x 4k "crop" on Canons, as if such high faster-brighter SPEEDCROP ADVANTAGE is somehow "inferior" (bad!) !!!
[X] ALL complain they "cannot" shoot wide-angle 4k with such high 1.75x "crop" 😖
    WRONG!

    THINK AGAIN!

    Q.E.D.
    N.B. !

  2. Welcome to the EOS R family! Been using this camera since release and have loved it since. Did some videos on it and vlogging tests, if you get bored you can check them out. Great video BTW!

  3. I'm coming from Canon 7d Mk2 and I mainly do photography and after looking at all the options out there, I picked the RP. The bottom line is it takes amazing photos and very reasonable price. I was going to try Sony but I have EF lenses so it wouldn't be worth going through all the trouble and plus, Canon and 3rd parties will be pumping out R mount lenses 🙂 eventually.

  4. I find it very "interesting" that so many popular reviewers have lately put out so many positive and delighted reviews — and almost simultaneously — of the R, almost a year after its initial release. I've been looking at buying the R, and up until a few weeks ago almost everyone and their mother were bashing this camera. Thanks for the detailed review.
