Hey Tony, Thinking of getting a Z6, want to get a few primes and not sure if I should go with the Nikon 85 1.4 and Nikon 35 1.4 and use the adapter, or go with the 85 and 35 Z lenses even though they are a bit slower. Thoughts?

Thank you so much Tony! This is exactly the review I was looking for. The new Nikkor lens is pricy but apparently based on your review and others, it's a huge leap forward. So glad I waited for this lens! Thumbs UP as always! Feeling better about my Z6 and Z7 – pulled the trigger on this one.
I don't think the Z lens beat the canon at all. I think the Canon's sharper lens beat Nikon's (more contrast) lens. It take sharpness over contrast.

Based on this review, and the expectation that Nikon will complete the 'trinity of lens' in the Z mount this year, I will not be surprised if you guys switch back from Sony to Nikon. A week ago, you had me convinced to go Sony, based on glass. If the Z lens is better than the GM lens, I will go Nikon……. Yes, I will have to be more patient to fill out my glass lineup. …….. Cheers
Very happy with how the Nikon S lenses perform on the Z bodies (photography). I am a hybrid shooter now since I got the Z6 and I am not impressed with the noise the adapted Nikon lenses make when trying to AF while shooting video.
What lenses besides the Nikon S lenses would be silent on the Z6/Z7 bodies (using FTZ adapter)?

hmmmmmmm….I guess if you have it,you have to check the recalls first,get the new firmware,which it needed,and then hope nothing else pops up…
Except that Canon now has an RF 24-70 f2.0 which blows away all these lenses and by far. Nikon has not made use of their so called flange distance, larger lens mount, bla bla bla
Is this something you can compare to the 3rd party 2.8's out there. The Tamron for instance due to price difference, how much are we loosing in overall quality? This is important for us enthusiast that do not have an arm and leg to spend on lenses.
Will you provide test images so I can decide for myself whether the Nikon or Canon is the sharper lens?

backlighting contrast is amazing, so may time I gave up because it was just bleached, that contrast on the z would be magical for portrait backlighting.
