If you have a PPS just change it to PPT. If you have a PPSX go to open with, Microsoft PowerPoint.

Very helpful. Thanks just subscribed. 😀
What about pptx??
You obviously are not that qualified to "tutor" about PowerPoint, simply because your conceptual premise is incorrect – "pps" or "ppsx" ARE NOT "read-only" nor "password protected" files!!!
They're files to be opened directly from Powerpoint Player (w/o need to run PP).
More… you don't even need to rename them as they can run directly from inside PowerPoint using… "File/Open" and (like in any other MSWindows software since ever) choosing the type of file to be opened – in this case listed under the button "All PowerPoint Presentations"…
It didn't work.
it isn't working…………………
It's not that simple…even if it is made to a PPT it will still ask for the password if you want to edit it..so what's the big deal????
WOW! That was quite easy. Thank you!!!!
