"It sounds like a cheap old lens." If Canon makes it silent focus, would this lens be that cheap?
What do you use when you shoot receptions?
Thanks for your review. I just ordered the lens using your link. 🙂
Do you shot raw or jpeg?
Got me convinced.
I wonder how this compares to Tamron 35 f1.8 VC? I used to have that lens and I loved it so I might get it back but I'll probably get this one.
I'm planning to get one of those.
I'm currently using 6d mark ii and I really like your review and I really wanna use it after watching your video. But I have to buy additional RF mout adopter so how much it will cost then?? With adopter??
Those images are just…… phone camera style, horrendous. Why would someone make a tutorial of a macro lens putting wedding images as examples? Go outside and get some real macro shots and then start again with a real tutorial!!
Great review!
But this lens is 550 Euros in Europe without weather sealing, without a hood and this ancient focussing system…..
@ Alex Barrera
Excellent review indeed, Alex! Just one question for you, please. Do you know if the Eos RP has an "in-camera" correction for the vignetting at f 1.8 with this lens? If so, could you tell me how to activate it? I'm asking because I'd like to buy the RP with this lens for Christmas. Many thanks, Marco.
awesome review .
you're going to blow up one day… keep up the good work
Where’s the comparison would love to see that 🤙🏻
I'm looking at the R for hybrid work I think the 35mm is a very versatile focal length. I just wish there was a 50mm 1.8 RF as well.
Great review! Just bought this lens and have to agree with you, too. So versatile.
I already have a Sigma 35mm 1.4. Is it still worth getting the RF 35mm?
oh dude, your post production is just incredible! Colors on those photos are just insane, love them!! Great review as well
Ordering now. Also gonna sub. It was your review of the EOS-R that pushed me over the edge to pick it up today
not sharp, movement in those photos, got to be kidding me, I`m out of here
Its on my wishlist 😉Thanks for reviewing
Agreed. This lens is fantastic. Thought it is sharper than the 35 1.4 L (mark i), which I since sold. Thanks for the review.
Great review! Grabbed my EOS R with the 35mm included in the price and it has just blown me away! The IQ is amazing! Was considering a 35Art, but not anymore
I too was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the RF 35. What surprised me the most is the corner sharpness wide open. It handily beats the Sony Zeiss 35 1.4 in the corners, though Sony has a nicer rendering and much more quite and faster AF. By the way, I really like post processing. Do you use your own presets?
I have one and must say, CA on this lens is very disappointing.
Eyeing this lens but really thinking of buying the 50mm 1.2 or the 28-70 f/2 (bcuz why not lol). Really enjoying the RF 24-105mm. Super sharp lens
I don't have this lens yet. Only the 24-105 4.0 kit, but I just bought the EOS R and bought into the RF system. Would you say this lens should be my next purchase, or the 50mm 1.2?
Excellent review! I brought this lens a few months and am very surprised at how sharp it is. I have been considering the 50 1.2, how do you rate that lens if you have it to the rf 35 1.8?
At the price point the Tamron f1.8 seems a good buy with weather sealing
Alex, recently discovered your channel, you're making super great videos. would be interested to hear your thoughts on 6 new lenses canon announced.. I've got my eye on that 15-35 2.8, looking to get that as soon as it comes out.
Totally agree with the auto focus! Even when I turn the camera off it goes in and out a few times. Other then that it’s just glorious 😍
Nice review, glad to see as I am thinking of getting this lens. Curious why you keep your cam in continuous AF?
