I reckon there will always be some kind of market for Digital SLRs, but mirrorless cameras are undoubtedly the future: so, I’m very excited to be testing out my first Canon RF camera lens, for their new EOS R full-frame mirrorless cameras: an update of their perennial favourite 24-105mm f/4 model. Let’s see how well it works.
This lens will /not/ work on digital SLR cameras, or Canon EOS M cameras – only Canon EOS R system cameras.

Thank you for comparing the IQ between the RF and EF models. I have the EF version and was curios if it was worth spending the money on the RF version. This review was very helpful. Thank you.
Your reviews are always perfect..Any thoughts on 24-240 Rf Lense ..want to use for travel..
the most trustworthy lens reviewer, great work!!!
Great review, thank you!
I got one of the old EF 24-105/4 kit'd with my 5D mk2 back when that camera was launched. It's the only lens I've ever abused. I once managed to drop it by not having closed my camera bag and standing up, it fell out and landed on the sidewalk. It still works 100% but the filter screw thread got FUBAR bent. I've always been really impressed with my little 24-105 that it's still alive and kicking and I've since (knock on wood) never done something that stupid to my gear.
will this lens would work on 6d canon???
I compared it with your test of the Sony 24-105 and the canon seems superior in corner image quality and is. Quite impresive and for less money. It's nice to have your standarized test to compare a bunch of lenses
How much pro
Thank you, but how it's better than the Sony equivalent?
Nicely done mate! Thanks a lot i learned quite a bit here. Bought my EOS R this weekend with the KIT lens and cant wait to test it. Cheers from Germany
Hmm someone is hinting at becoming a dad I see.

bad blur focus and bad blur depth of field…
many lens with any cameras are big problem with bad blur focuses
6:29 these greenish lines in the middle of the frame look worse than the older EF lense.
Just love Canon lenses. Hoping for a competitive body soon.
Lol thumbs up for crystal Pepsi!
Christopher please review the Yongnuo 35mm f/1.4!!!!
Do the 85 RF from SAMYANG next!!! 😀
You should include a picture of the old brick building in the sharpness chart montage, just for old time's sake.
Can you also review any budget macro lens?
Where does one find grey market items?
Here the Rf 24-105 is near enough the same price as the EF24-105f4L II with better image quality and better usability!!
wow, the image quality & color results from R & this lens are amazing!
